He is my God

Written by:

The Incarnation of God

Jesus Christ is not an idea, a symbol, or a great man remembered for His teachings—He is God in the flesh, the fullness of the eternal, invisible, and all-powerful Creator made manifest among us.

The world may debate His identity, reducing Him to a historical figure or a religious leader, but Scripture does not allow for such limitations. He is not just one among many prophets, sages, or spiritual reformers—He is the very essence of God walking upon the earth, the embodiment of divinity clothed in humanity.

From the beginning, before the foundations of the world were laid, He was with God, and He was God. The apostle John declares with absolute clarity:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1).

The Word was not a creation, not a secondary being, but the eternal Logos—God Himself. And this divine Word did the unthinkable: He stepped into time, taking on flesh, dwelling among men, veiling His glory within the fragility of human form without ever ceasing to be fully God.

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14).

Jesus is not merely a messenger of God—He is God with us. He did not come to teach about the way—He is the Way. He did not come to reveal a portion of the truth—He is the Truth. He did not come to point towards life—He is the Life. (John 14:6).

Every action He took, every word He spoke, every miracle He performed bore witness to this truth. He walked on water because He is the Creator of the seas. He commanded storms to be still because He is the Master over nature. He forgave sins because He alone has the authority of God to do so. And He rose from the dead because death itself cannot hold the Author of Life.

The prophets foretold His coming, declaring that the Messiah would not simply be a great ruler but God Himself entering into His own creation.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6).

His name is not just “teacher” or “prophet” or “holy man”—His name is Mighty God. He was not merely sent by God—He is God.

To claim that Jesus is anything less than divine is to deny the entire testimony of Scripture. He is not an optional belief, a revered teacher, or a cultural influence.

He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. (Revelation 22:13).

He is not part of God—He is the fullness of God dwelling bodily. (Colossians 2:9).

His incarnation is not an abstract theological concept—it is the most earth-shattering, reality-defining truth of all existence.

And because He is God, everything changes. He is not just someone I admire—He is the One I worship. He is not someone I follow because He inspires me—He is the One who gives me life. He is not a man whose teachings I try to live by—He is my Lord and my God. (John 20:28).

The world may fail to recognize Him, but I know whom I have believed. And because of this, my entire being is bound to Him—not out of religious duty, not out of obligation, but because there is no other Name in heaven or on earth by which I am saved. (Acts 4:12).

This is not a belief I hold. This is the truth I live and die by.

Jesus Is Not Just a Man

Jesus is not merely historical figure, a wise teacher, or an icon of morality.

Many acknowledge Jesus as a historical person, a wise philosopher, or a moral teacher. Even secular scholars do not deny His existence. Yet, to reduce Him to mere history, wisdom, or morality is to miss the truth of His divine nature.

He is not just a teacher of righteousness—He is righteousness itself. He is not just an ethical leader—He is the Lawgiver. He is not just a figure of history—He is the One who was, who is, and who is to come.

Jesus is not just wise; He is wisdom. He is not just moral; He is the source of righteousness.

“For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver; the LORD is our king; He will save us.” (Isaiah 33:22)

“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)

He is not someone I follow simply because His teachings seem good or because His followers are kind.

If Jesus were just a teacher of good things, He would be no different from the countless philosophers, prophets, or spiritual leaders throughout history.

But He is not someone I follow because His words are beautiful or His people are good—I follow Him because He is the only way to eternal life. His words are not just inspiring—they are the words of life. Even if every follower of Jesus failed, I would still follow Him, because He alone is truth.

His words are not just good advice; they are eternal life itself.

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” (John 6:68)

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” (John 14:6)

He is not a nationalistic symbol, a cultural figurehead, or a passive interest. He is my God.

Some have tried to fit Jesus into political, nationalistic, or cultural frameworks, claiming Him for their own ideologies. But He is not the possession of any nation, culture, or political movement.

He is the King of all nations, the Lord of all creation, and the God who reigns beyond borders. He is not my God because of heritage, tradition, or preference. He is my God because there is no other besides Him.

Jesus is not limited to any nation or ideology—He reigns over all the earth.

“For the kingdom is the LORD’s, and He rules over the nations.” (Psalm 22:28)

“All the nations You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name.” (Psalm 86:9)

He is the breath in my lungs, the reason I rise each morning with purpose, the anchor that holds me when hope is nowhere to be found.

Every breath I take is because He has given it to me. I do not wake up by my own power or continue in life by my own will. The very act of breathing is an act of dependence on Him. And when all else fails, when hope is nowhere to be found, He is the unshaken rock that holds me steady.

My breath, my life, and my hope are sustained by Him alone.

“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!” (Psalm 150:6)

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2)

I do not breathe by accident. I do not exist by chance. Each inhale is a testimony that He has given me life, and each exhale is a call to worship the One who sustains it.

He is the one I would willingly die for, and the failures of humanity do not deter me from worshiping Him in all things.

People fail. Religious institutions fall into corruption. The world is full of betrayal and sin. But none of that affects who Jesus is. His worthiness is not dependent on His followers. If the whole world turned against Him, I would still give my life for Him, because He gave His life for me.

His worthiness is not measured by human faithfulness—He is worthy on His own.

“Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You.” (Psalm 63:3)

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)

Even if my body is destroyed, my soul belongs to Him. His love is not a mere comfort—it is my greatest treasure, worth more than breath, more than safety, more than the fleeting comforts of this life.

He is the fullness of God’s feet touching the earth.

Jesus is not just a representative of God—He is God made manifest. When He walked the earth, He was not a mere reflection of the divine. He was God’s fullness, stepping into time and space, touching creation with His very presence.

Jesus is not a messenger of God—He is God with us.

For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell.” (Colossians 1:19)

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1)

Every part of my existence is bound to Him, not as a mere religious devotion but as an unshakable reality that defines my being.

Faith in Christ is not a religious routine. It is not a category of my life. It is my very existence. There is no separation between my life and my worship—because my life is worship. Every thought, every moment, every action is in Him, through Him, and for Him.

Worship is not something I do—it is who I am in Him.

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalm 34:1)

“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You.” (Psalm 73:25)

The world may take away every earthly joy, but it cannot take away Christ. He is my unshaken hope, the assurance that even in the darkest night, the dawn of His faithfulness will come.

Jesus is not a part of my life—He is my life.

The world will try to fit Jesus into categories: a great leader, a moral example, an option among many. But He is not a part of my existence—He is my existence. My faith is not a practice, my worship is not a ritual, my devotion is not an obligation. My life is in Him, because He is life itself.

Jesus is not a component of life—He is life.

“For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling; I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.” (Psalm 116:8-9)

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1)

Declaration

Let the world try to define Jesus. Let them limit Him to history, morality, or philosophy. They will always fall short. He is not just a man, not just a teacher, not just a name among many. He is the living, breathing, eternal God—my God.

His feet walked the earth, but He is the King of Heaven. His hands touched the broken, but He is the One who holds the universe. His words were spoken in time, but they are eternal life.

A Path to Knowing Him Intimately

To know Jesus is not to simply acknowledge Him, agree with His teachings, or recite a prayer—it is to behold Him, to be undone by His glory, and to be drawn into the very presence of God through Him. It is not a casual belief but a consuming love, not an intellectual exercise but a life-altering encounter. Those who truly see Him for who He is cannot remain the same.

Seek Him with Nothing Held Back

Many approach Jesus with conditions, wanting to know Him on their terms, but He is found by those who seek Him with everything—not half-heartedly, not as an afterthought, but with desperation and hunger.

Scripture:

“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)

“One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4)

To know Jesus intimately, you must long for Him more than anything else. He is not a side pursuit—He is the pursuit. He is not an addition to your life—He is your life.

Let His Presence Undo You

No one who truly stands before the Holy One remains unchanged. To see Him as He is—to even glimpse His majesty—is to be undone, overwhelmed, humbled, and transformed. Those who have known Him did not come to Him boasting of their own righteousness; they fell at His feet in awe and trembling.

Scripture:

“My ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.” (Job 42:5-6)

“Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!” (Isaiah 6:5)

“When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying, ‘Fear not, I am the First and the Last.’” (Revelation 1:17)

Knowing Jesus intimately is not a casual acquaintance—it is to be so captivated by Him that you recognize your own nothingness apart from Him. It is to be shaken to the core and yet simultaneously healed by His love.

Not Just Believe, But Dwell

Many claim to believe in Jesus, but few abide in Him. Knowing Him is not about a single decision—it is about a daily dwelling, a constant communion, a life intertwined with His.

Scripture:

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” (John 15:4)

“I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.” (Psalm 16:8)

“As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.” (Psalm 42:1-2)

To abide in Him means to live in constant awareness of His presence, to hunger for Him like a starving man hungers for food, to let His words shape your every thought and action. It is a relentless pursuit, a desire that never fades.

Love Him More Than Life Itself

To truly know Him is to love Him so much that everything else becomes worthless in comparison. The cost does not matter, the suffering does not matter—He alone is worth it.

Scripture:

“Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You.” (Psalm 73:25)

“Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You.” (Psalm 63:3)

“Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.” (Philippians 3:8)

When you love Jesus this way, it is no longer about religion—it is about adoration. It is no longer about obedience out of duty—it is obedience out of overwhelming love.

Let Him Break You

Jesus does not simply improve your life—He completely remakes it. The person who knows Him is not the same as before. To love Him is to let Him undo you, break you, and rebuild you into something new.

Scripture:

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.” (Psalm 51:17)

“I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and they shall be My people and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” (Jeremiah 24:7)

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20)

Knowing Jesus intimately is not about improvement—it is about transformation. The old self dies, and a new creation rises.

Demands Everything

This is not a simple choice, a momentary prayer, or a religious affiliation. This is surrender. It is seeing Him for who He is, being undone by His presence, and giving Him everything without reserve.

Do not approach Him casually. Do not try to fit Him into your life—He must become your life. The decision to follow Jesus is not about securing heaven—it is about knowing Him now, walking with Him daily, and loving Him above all else.

  • Seek Him with all your heart.
  • Let His presence undo you.
  • Abide in Him daily.
  • Love Him more than life itself.
  • Let Him break you and remake you.

And when you do, you will know Him not as a distant Savior, but as the Lover of your soul, the One whom your heart was made for.

Because to know Him is to love Him. And once you love Him, there is no turning back.
