Fear Has No Chance
Psalms 22:2 (BBE):
“O my God, I make my cry in the day, and you give no answer; and in the night, and have no rest.”
Darkness.
Abandonment.
Fear.
We’ve all known these shadows. Some of us have lived in them longer than we’d care to admit. I’ve been there—struggling with depression, wrestling with suicidal thoughts, crying out to a God who, at times, felt silent.
But even in the darkest night, release comes. Sometimes it’s no bigger than a flicker—a flower, a kind word, or a gentle breeze. The smallest spark of light can shatter the deepest shadows. And in that moment, we remember:
All good things come from God
It’s not hard to admit when you feel like no one is listening anyway. But here’s the truth that holds me together: God’s ear is never closed.
A Soul Crying Out
Soul is broken
All have turned their face
Loneliness is penetrating
Ripping my heart in two
None ever understood
Silent anguishing screams
I need help.
But somehow, God’s grace keeps me moving. His mercy never locks the doors. Even when I feel forsaken, there’s a whisper of His presence, heart to heart.
Stillness, unaccepted
Stillness, unjoined
Stillness, alone
Stillness, crying
Stillness, no help
Who am I that everyone turns away with misunderstanding? Who am I to be so repulsive, so abrasive, so hard to be around?
Lost again.
Alone again.
Light and breath surround me, but something dark and heavy still clings to me in my human-to-human interactions. Who can help me?
Psalms 41:3-4 (BBE):
“The Lord will be his support on his bed of pain: by you will all his grief be turned to strength. Lord, have mercy on me; make my soul well, because my faith is in you.”
The Turning Point
It’s in the stillness, in the brokenness, where God whispers: “I am here.”
When everyone else walks away, when no one seems to understand, He does. His mercy turns grief into strength. His grace gives me breath to keep going. And though the shadows may linger, they can’t overpower the Light.
I’ve learned this:
- Fear has no chance.
- Depression doesn’t get the final word.
- Loneliness doesn’t define me.
Even in the darkest moments, God is there. He sees the silent screams, the tears no one else notices. And while the journey is hard, His mercy is enough to carry me through.
For Those in the Darkness
If you’re struggling, if you feel like no one sees you or understands, know this: God does. His ear is open. His grace is sufficient. And even when the night feels endless, the dawn will come.
Hold on to His promises. Cry out to Him. Let His mercy and grace meet you where you are.
Fear has no chance—not when God is with you.
